New York Giants receive a “D” for their disgraceful loss to the Lions

New York Giants
The New York Giants were having a dream season through the first 10 weeks of the season, but their shocking loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday gave them a hard reality check.
The significant issues that contributed to the Giants’ troubles in 2021 initially surfaced in 2022.
The absence of a running game and Daniel Jones’ propensity for turnovers were major factors in the Giants’ 4-13 record last season, and both issues were present during New York’s 31-18 defeat.
Jones would throw two interceptions at the Lions, one of which was that one. In the third quarter, when a comeback was still conceivable, the Giants’ quarterback also threw a pick.
The Giants were up 6-3 when the Hutchinson pick occurred, but three plays later, the Lions scored a touchdown to go up 10-6, erasing that advantage. Detroit would never again fall behind.
New York hasn’t really needed to rely on Jones this year because Saquon Barkley and the Giants’ running game have been so successful; however, with Barkley getting stopped for no gain on almost every play the Giants were forced to turn to Jones.
However, given that the Giants were playing one of the worst defences in the NFL, you have to expect more from Jones and the offence as a whole.
On Sunday, the Giants dealt with a number of issues, including numerous injuries, the shutting down of their run game, and a few untimely penalties.
