Neymar was receiving medical attention at the team hotel on Friday after suffering an injury during Brazil's opening-game 2-0 victory over Serbia.

He limped off the field to the locker room while sobbing and wearing ice on his ankle as he sat on the bench.

After the game, Neymar sent a text on Instagram with the hashtag "have trust" in it.

After injuring his ankle in a tackle by Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic in the 79th minute, Neymar was replaced.

Throughout the game, Neymar had already been tackled numerous times and was occasionally spotted grunting and limping.

He had nine fouls after the first round of group stage games, which was the most of any World Cup player.
