Fords latest round of updates for its much-praised F-150 Lightning includes a significant price hike for its multiple all-electric truck variants.

Ford is raising the price of its basic all-electric pickup, the F-150 Lightning Pro,

by $5,000, as the automaker struggles with prolonged supply-chain disruptions and rising input costs.

DETROIT - Ford Motor is raising the starting price of its F-150 Lightning pickup, an electric truck, the F-150 Lightning pickup,

by $5,000 for the 2023 model year, citing rising costs and supply chain issues.

The increases are just for the base model, said Ford spokesperson Dan Barbossa, and they do not mean any similar increases are coming to the other,

more fully equipped versions of the electric F-150 Lightning pickup.
