NFL has suspended free agent tight end Chris Herndon for the remainder of the 2022 regular season.

Herndon, 26, has also been fired by the league previously.

The former Jet was penalised for violating the league's substance abuse policy and programme in 2019.

He was  suspended for the first four games of the season.

he admitted guilt to DWI earlier that year after colliding with a 76-year-old man's car  in 2018.

Herndon  had 39 receptions for 502 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie.

because of ban and ensuing season ending injury, he only participated in one game the next year.

Before being traded to the Vikings, he had 31 receptions for 287 yards and three touchdowns in his final season.

Herndon played in 16 games for Minnesota last season, he only had four receptions for 40 yards and one touchdown.
